Introducing a new KBDF series digital drive

KB Electronics, Inc. Manufacturer of AC Drives, DC Drives & Variable Speed Controls

KB Electronics, Inc. expands their AC drive product line with the addition of the KBDF digital drive series.

Coral Springs, FL-May 13, 2013- KB Electronics, Inc. of Coral Springs, FL, a manufacturer of AC drives and DC drives from fractional through 5 horsepower expand their AC drive product offering with new digital drives. The KBDF Series of Adjustable Frequency Drives consist of fourteen inverter models rated for 1/8 to 5 horsepower motors. Drives are available for AC, PMSM, DC brushless, PSC, Shaded Pole, Universal and EC motors. These drives are housed in IP 20 enclosures and are available with a built-in CE approved AC Line Class “A” Industrial Standard RFI (EMI) Filter.

“We are pleased to continue to expand our AC drive offering." reports Alan Bueller, vice president sales, KB. “These digital drives allow us to offer models rated to 5 horsepower motors with a digital display and LED light indicators.”

These are ideal for OEM applications where digital programming and displays are required. The common sense programming (CSP) organizes parameters into easy to understand intuitive groups. The proprietary current limit software provides overload protection, prevents motor burnout and eliminates nuisance tripping. It is UL approved as an electronic overload protector for motors. The KBDF drive offers energy savings, using only the power the application requires. Replacing constant speed with variable speed will significantly reduce energy costs. GFCI software allows the equipment to operate with Ground Fault Circuit Interruption circuit breakers or outlets.

KB Electronics, Inc. introduces a new Hybrid Drive™ model KBWA, an AC digital drive with analog interface

KB Electronics, Inc. of Coral Springs, FL, a manufacturer of AC drives and DC drives from fractional through 5 horsepower, introduces a new Hybrid Drive™ to their current product line. KB is the first manufacturer of variable frequency drives to apply the term Hybrid Drive to a segment of their AC drive line. A hybrid, by definition, is the merging of two technologies. These drives combine the digital technology of the microprocessor with an easy to use analog interface. Simple trimpot adjustments and selectable jumpers are used in lieu of complicated programming.

The new KBWA Series drives operate on either 115 or 230 VAC. The KBWA-23D is housed in a vented NEMA 1 / IP 20 enclosure and is rated through ½ HP. Model KBWA-22D is housed in a non-vented NEMA 1 / IP 50 enclosure and is rated through ¼ HP.

“We are pleased to continually deliver quality AC drives to our customers." reports Alan Bueller, vice president sales, KB. “This new KBWA drive is a great addition to our growing AC drive product line. We plan to expand our current offering of AC and DC drives, as the market demands.”

The proprietary current limit software provides overload protection, prevents motor burnout and eliminates nuisance tripping. It is UL approved as an electronic overload protector for motors. The KBWA drive offers energy savings, using only the power the application requires. Replacing constant speed with variable speed will significantly reduce energy costs. GFCI software, with factory programming, allows the equipment to operate with Ground Fault Circuit Interruption circuit breakers or outlets.

KB Electronics, Inc. of Coral Springs, FL, a manufacturer of AC drives and DC drives from fractional through 5 horsepower, welcomed Congressman Ted Deutch to their facilities on May 1, 2012.

KB products consist of energy saving variable-speed drives (VSD’s). Energy savings is realized by using variable motor speed instead of constant motor speed. Other benefits of using VSD’s include less equipment wear resulting in lower maintenance costs.

“We were honored to have the Congressman visit our manufacturing facility” says Michael Neider, executive vice president of KB. “We are proud of our continued success and being able to help the local economy by keeping the assembly and design of our products here in Coral Springs.”

KB’s continued growth will provide job opportunities to local residents. Their hands-on training programs provide individuals with new knowledge and skills. This is beneficial to both KB and the Coral Springs community.

“Across America, we are witnessing a resurgence of manufacturing, and thanks to innovative manufacturers like KB Electronics, Inc. this growth is taking root in South Florida,” said Congressman Ted Deutch. “Touring KB’s facility only reinforced my commitment to investing in research and development, technical training, and other initiatives that promote growth and job creation in our manufacturing sector.”

Highlights of Congressman Deutch’s visit included a tour of KB’s extensive testing area, surface mount machinery and the engineering lab.

KB Electronics, Inc. of Coral Springs, FL, a manufacturer of AC drives and DC drives from fractional through 5 horsepower, offers services to customize a motor drive to the specific manufacturing needs of original equipment manufacturers (OEM). KB will develop a custom drive solution, Ready to Use “Out-of-the-Box.”

“Purchasing a custom drive from KB is a cost savings for an OEM,” says Alan Bueller, vice president of sales, KB. “You can reduce your costs by purchasing the exact drive with only the features and options required for your application.”

Installation of a custom drive is as simple as taking the drive out of the box and installing it in the equipment, resulting in additional labor cost savings.

Customization can include pre-calibrating or programming a stock control, adding a custom label, custom software, PLC functions or, if required, providing a newly designed control. KB’s engineers will collaborate with the OEM’s engineering team to build a custom drive that meets their specific needs.

Custom controls are available for AC, PMSM, DC, DC brushless, PSC, Shaded Pole and Universal motors.
